The longest day this year was on Monday 20th June as it's a leap year, and the following day the weather perked up and it was actually warm again. I had to bust out the striped dress of course, and added my fabulous faux-leather jacket for my morning walk to work.

Georgia Rose red patent flats

Yes I know I wore this top in my last post but I'm a real person, I re-wear my clothes! Style bloggers often feel they need to wear something different in each post but in real life, everyone wears their clothes over and over again. It would get very expensive, very quickly, if they didn't! I only take photos when I have the time in the morning to do so, and that isn't every day, so although I actually washed this top and wore it four days later, it is appearing in consecutive blog posts. And I'm OK with that.

Outfit: June 16th - Jeans For The Office

16-06-16

Strictly speaking I'm not supposed to wear jeans in my new office, but I've found I can get away with black ones so will be mixing those in to my work wardrobe on a regular basis. I paired them with my favourite burgundy blouse and some leopard flats to keep the look smart.

This is a different dress to the one I wore on June 6th, I swear! What can I say, I have a problem with stripes! That dress was navy, this one is black. It was still warm by Wednesday so short sleeves and comfy pumps were a definite must-do. I took my jacket with me as I can't get my head around the fact that it will not be cold at work. My new office does not have air conditioning - hurrah! After spending the past few summers working in a fridge (and decamping to the warm garden with my laptop to escape the cold) this year I am actually being allowed to enjoy the warm weather for what it is. Warm. Turns out the jacket was a smart move though as it started raining on my way home.

This skirt my look navy but it has tiny white polka dots on it, I promise! I was going to wear my red and white spotted skirt the morning these pictures were taken but when I put it on I just didn't love the full shape of it anymore. I think it being too big around the waist didn't help either. It was too hot to contemplate faffing with a belt so I switched it out for this pencil shape skirt instead. Do white shoes make my pasty legs look less pale?

This dress was another of my birthday presents (my birthday that was almost two months ago now...) but this was the first time I'd worn it. I feel like it hadn't really been warm enough for this dress up to this point, but over the weekend that preceded this Monday summer hit the UK and we had wall to wall sunshine and warmth. It was delightful. The good weather continued into the working week and so Monday morning was the perfect time to debut my dress. I walk to work now so summery white pumps were fun as well as practical.

Bank holiday Monday we headed off for a walk in the Dales with some friends, followed by a delicious meal at a pub. We had a lovely time and it was the perfect way to round off the weekend.

On the Sunday of the bank holiday weekend I headed off to church as the choir was singing and leading the service. I added a blazer to smarten up my jeans, but it was a good thing I didn't wear heels as the girl standing next to me was only about 4'10" (and she had heels on!).

Outfit: May 28th - Vintage Day

28-05-16b

28-05-16

28-05-16c

Last weekend was a bank holiday in the UK, meaning we got a whole extra day off to enjoy. Now usually on a long weekend the weather gets the memo and ends up being thoroughly rotten, but this time I don't think anyone told it and we had sunshine. Actual warm sunshine. And it was glorious. There was a vintage festival in my local town and we headed down there to enjoy the spring weather. Fancy dress was optional and despite having full on 1940s gear from last year we opted out this time. I did feel vaguely 1950s in my cuffed jeans and white pumps though.

I love this blazer! I still can't believe that a bright orange jacket lives in my wardrobe, let alone that I wear it so often, but there you go. The good people at TM Lewin knew what they were doing when they designed this. I paired it with various navy items for a warmish day last week.
