A Question…

…to all you US ladies out there: Traditionally, you’re not supposed to wear white after Labor Day, but when is it OK to start wearing it again (sometime in the spring, presumably)?

  1. i never bought into the whole "no white before or after this or that" set of rules. it can be inappropriate in the form of shoes or pants during the very cold winter months, but even that's not a guideline i follow strictly. as long as the white garment is seasonally appropriate- no white strappy sandals in january please!- otherwise go for it!

  2. The old fashion rule was no white before Memorial Day (late May). However, I go more by temps. If you live in Florida and it is 80 degrees out go for it! Last May when it finally hit 70s for a couple of a day in a row I wore them. I think it is really more about fabric weight and seasonal appropriateness than a date on a calendar!

  4. Technically, not until Memorial Day - late May. In reality, though very few people adhere to this rule anymore.
